Romantic Wedding in a Small Theatre in the heart of Umbria

The southern regions of Umbria, a territory somewhat off the beaten tourist track, is perhaps one of the most evocative areas of central Italy: farming tradition, art and theatrical culture being the distinctive elements of beautiful medieval villages nestling atop hills rising from fields of grain, like Trevi, a medieval jewel set amidst the celebrated olives of Umbria, the most ancient of which no less than 1700 hundred years old: the majestic “PATRIARCA VERDE” that watches over the town from an ancient hamlet on its slopes.
The love this couple, both of whom from the world of cinema, has for art and the Italian cultural heritage was the main reason for their choosing this enchanted place, and VILLA PIANCIANI was the elegant historic residence where the couple chose to celebrate their Italian wedding in the company of friends and family.

This late 18th century villa is set in a dominant position on a hill just a few miles from Spoleto, in the green heart of Umbria. It is the work of the famous architect Giuseppe Valadier, and part of a monumental complex that includes a variety of other buildings and a grand historic park under the protection of the Italian national trust.
The ceremony itself was a particular surprise for the guests, held on the stage of the splendid Clitunno Theatre in Trevi. The theatrical tradition of this ancient town goes back to Roman times, and now the theatre also hosts highly original wedding ceremonies. The curtain rises on the groom ready to welcome his bride onto the stage to exchange their vows before an audience of their guests.
